Firstly we scarify the courts, minimum of 4 passes – removing as much organic material as possible, we are using our Dennis mower with scarifying blades & tractor mounted for a deeper scarification. Looks aggressive and damaging but it’s important to remember that this process is designed to remove dead/dying organic matter – this will improve firmness and consistency. The objective is to remove organic material to make space for new seed to grow.
Clean up cuts between passes are necessary – this removes any material not collected by the scarifier.
Fertiliser application pre-seeder applied @ 35g/m2. Following seeding.
Seeding – at least 1 bag per court – ideally 50 g/m2. Use a disc/dimple seeder to apply the seed – this ensures good seed/soil contact.
Top dressing – spread 2 – 3 tonnes evenly across each court.
Finally we drag matted over the courts for a nice level finish.
