140 Year Celebrations

This year, 2024, Felixstowe Lawn Tennis Club is 140 years old.

We celebrated our birthday with a celebration / open day which was held on Sunday 11th August 2024.

We invited the public and members to attend to show the people of Felixstowe what a wonderful club we have and we had a brilliant turnout.

We had plenty of events on during the day including:

• Try tennis for free; the Grass and Hard courts were open all day
• Club President Christine Janes made an appearance – Winner of French Championship 1959
• Live music was played from midday with Words and Music 60’s duo
• Kids tennis games were played all day
• Exhibition matches were played with some with original wooden tennis rackets
• Food & Drink was available with the Bar open
• Story boards were be placed around the club depicting the club’s history

Thank you to everyone who turned up to mark this special occasion for our club.
