Felixstowe Lawn Tennis Club has once again welcomed players from across the world for the annual ITF Seniors Tournament, with this year’s event proving to be another outstanding success.
Over four days of excellent weather and highly competitive tennis, 78 players aged between 30 and 83 took to the courts for the club’s 12th ITF Seniors event. Competitors travelled from across the UK and around the globe, including visitors from Chile, Japan and Spain, highlighting the growing international reputation of both the tournament and Felixstowe Lawn Tennis Club.
The event showcased tennis of a high standard across a range of age categories, with players demonstrating remarkable skill, determination and sportsmanship throughout the week.
A special thank you goes to the many club members who came along to support the tournament. Their warm welcome for visiting players and enthusiastic encouragement of the club’s seven competitors helped create the friendly atmosphere for which Felixstowe has become renowned.
The tournament concluded with an excellent turnout of spectators, with more than 70 people watching the Men’s Over 30s final. The match provided a fitting finale to the week, as Felixstowe’s own Matt Hough delivered a superb performance to claim the title. His display of grass-court tennis was a joy to watch and earned him a well-deserved championship victory.
Events such as this demonstrate the strength of Felixstowe Lawn Tennis Club, both on and off the court. Many competitors return year after year, consistently praising the club’s welcoming atmosphere, excellent facilities and friendly membership.
